I love baking!

Wellcome back to old school blogging. Back in the day, blogs used to be a thing and people would write about whatever thing they're into and share it with other people that care about those things. BUT that's because we didn't have vlogging/influencing back then and thank fuck for that!!

Well, today I'm starting this whole blogging thing before even thinking about tackling YT because I'm nervous and this is what I know and I think people should get back into old school blogging/writing. It's better for our brains and for our emotional wellbeing, well, in my opinion.

Yesterday I spent the day in the kitchen baking up all kinds of goodies for my family because I show my love with food and that's exactly what I did.

As a family, we're trying to quit  store bought snacks so I've been making my own granola! I LOVE IT!!

I added a ton of winter spices so it's very flavorful and my only complaint is that I wish it was a bit sweeter. I went really light on the sugar because I wasn't sure who sweet it would turn out but I've learned I prefer my granola a little bit on the sweeter side.

No measurements because I like to measure with my heart <3

The whole house was smelling sooo yummy while the granola was baking!

After the 30 minutes were up, I decided to flip all the granola over and bake it for like 5 more minutes. I really wanted to make sure everything was niiiice and crunchy. Be careful not to burn your fingers (because I totally did)!!

Once the granola was in the oven I started working on my sourdough discard bagels. Oof, what a difference break flour makes when doing this! I know AP flour works in most recipes and I've also purchased wheat gluten so I can make my own high protein flour BUT my husband recently bought a bag of bread flour for me and omg, it makes a huge difference!! I highly recommend splurging if you want because it's worth it.

The bagels turned out so delicious and so worth the wait.

I also had my girls help me knead the bagels and I made the little holes and tidied them up a bit. It was a great activity for us to do together and I'm definitely having them help with he next batch of bagels!

Don't forget to store your nuts & seeds in the fridge!!

On top of that we also made homemade pizza for dinner AND I took this opportunity to feed my sourdough starter for some future bakings projects!

I started my sourdough starter just this year (recently) and it's been awesome! I've used whole wheat flour to really bulk up the fiber in my starters AND I've learned that bread flour makes an insane difference in the final product.

OH! Also, try to get somewhat decent AP flour. I tried the Walmart brand AP flour and it was absolutely TERRIBLE. So next I tried the Kroger brand Unbleached AP flour and that was WAAY better!!

As of lately, I've been really into baking and really really into yoga. I feel stronger than ever and it's really made me want to go to YTT... fingers crossed :)

I've also fully quit all social media and I can't even sit through YT shorts anymore. I guess that's why I'm here, writing, to no one lol.

Anyway, that's what I've got. I'll be back a little later with more.

<3 Dany
